    dunny44abledunny44able9 päivää sitten
    • Depends how old he is. If you get a transplant too early due to male patterned thinning then yes, eventually they will need other transplants but the hairs on the head of a male body usually slows down or stops thinning and balding by the time they are 35! The majority of the hair will have shed. Always good to wait until then if you can.

  • I understand the instinct to keep the top really long, but it makes it look even thinner. It needs to be evened up, cut even shorter so that the ends are more uniform and appear dense. It does not take very long for the hair to grow back out and when it does it will have a more visible weight to it. The wispy ends make it all look thinner as a whole. That combined with the tight fade just looks so thin. Also, lavender oil promotes hair/scalp health and has the added bonus of reducing anxiety. There are mists you can get that contain just the oils, usually 3 different types

  • Considering one myself. Only thing I’m concerned about is I’ve been on finasteride before. Soon as I noticed recession I hopped on it and stayed on it for over a year. They say you should see close to maximum results after a year. Well I notice no change for about 9 months. Still the same very slow progression but nothing crazy. Then out of nowhere ten months in my hairline receded so rapidly it was insane. Receded more in 3 months then it had in five years. Crazy diffuse thinning. Starting on the back of my head too. And I freaked out. I had to make a tough tough decision. Basically: either I have very aggressive balding and I’m not a very great responder when it comes to finasteride. Or worse I’m in that microscopic minority of non-responders. And I thought ‘am I gonna stay on this in the hopes that it’s possibly doing something helpful when I’ve experienced far far far more recession like crazy crazy recession in the year that I’ve been on this drug? Or do I accept that this is happening to me, get off the drug, and shave my head’. It was very very hard but I decided to do the second option. Part of what helped me to get over that hump was the hope that I could maybe get a hair transplant. Now I’m gonna go in for a consultation for one and my big concern is I know the prescribe finasteride to patients to prevent shock loss and strengthen/ fill out the hair in and outside of the transplanted area. My fear is that the drug won’t work on me and something will go wrong and the procedure will end up making things worse. Another fear is that I’m just not a good enough responder and the hair will continue to rapidly thin to the point where I don’t get to enjoy any success from the first procedure before needing another. I’m also also afraid that a surgeon or someone is gonna try and tell me I’m crazy and ‘there’s such a small percentage of guys that finasteride doesn’t work’ and try to convince me that I screwed up. I know there’s a split opinion online and some guys say ‘it can take up to two years for full results’ or something. But I was on it for over a year not 3 months or something. Also it’s just a fact that when I got on it I had minimal temple recession over the left side, and by the time I got off/decided to shave my head a year and a half later I had massively receding temples and a bald spot forming on the back of my head. the evidence wasn’t very strong that the drug was doing anything for me at all. Bottom line: I’ve shaved my head and had a whirlwind year. I know what I look like with a really close shaved head and I don’t mind it. I would obviously still love to have hair and to be in my 20’s and see it change so rapidly is really really rough, but if it has to be this way I can just shave it and I’ll be okay. Still I’d like to give every option available a shot just to see. But I’m not having a lot of luck combating the hair loss and I just don’t wanna screw myself up worse. Kind of between a rock and a hard place on this one

  • The thing that I've notice about hair transplants is that they look better when the hair is longer - it fills in more of the scalp, When they keep the hair short after having a hair transplant. it doesn't look that good. If a person can grow long hair after a hair-transplant, its often not noticeable at all - like Matthew McConaughey
